Grow & Tell - Coloma Farms

On July 18, 2022, Coloma Farms welcomed 35 participants for a hands-on Grow & Tell event that offered a behind-the-scenes look at potato production in Wisconsin’s Central Sands region. Attendees toured the farm’s facilities to learn how potatoes are grown, harvested, and stored.

A highlight of the event was a presentation by UW–Madison researchers, who shared insights from a collaborative research plot hosted at Coloma Farms. The study focused on soil carbon dynamics in the Central Sands, offering valuable data on how farming practices can influence soil health and long-term sustainability.

This event provided a unique opportunity for farmers, educators, and community members to connect research with real-world farming practices.

Attendees seated on wooden benches inside a large metal building watch a presenter pointing at a screen during an educational presentation. The room features high ceilings, industrial lighting, and visible equipment in the background.
